Parchment paper is silicone-coated greaseproof paper engineered for oven use — non-stick, oven-safe to around 220-230°C, food-safe at high temperatures. It's the workhorse of bakeries, pâtisseries, restaurant kitchens and any operation that bakes, roasts, or oven-cooks at scale. Parchment paper formats

Pre-cut parchment sheets — sized for standard half-sheet (33×46 cm), full-sheet (46×66 cm), and bun trays. Stack them next to your bakery oven or prep area.

Parchment paper vs greaseproof paper — read this before ordering

The two are NOT interchangeable. Get this wrong and you'll either (a) put plain greaseproof in a hot oven and it'll smoke and brown, or (b) use parchment for cold wrapping where it's overkill and pays a premium for the silicone coating you don't need.

Use parchment paper for: oven baking, roasting, en papillote, lining cookie sheets, lining bun trays, anything above 100°C.
Use greaseproof paper for: sandwich wraps, deli liners, cold or warm food wrap, anything below 100°C.

Why bakeries default to roll format

Most artisan and commercial bakeries we supply use parchment in roll form rather than pre-cut. The reason is flexibility — one roll covers half-sheet, full-sheet and bespoke tray sizes, with no SKU proliferation. Pre-cut sheets are popular in pâtisseries and home-baking retail (where the cut-to-size convenience matters more than per-sheet cost).

Sustainability — what parchment is actually made of

Most parchment paper is FSC-certified paper with a thin food-safe silicone coating. The silicone is inert and food-safe; the paper is recyclable as paper waste once the silicone has been cooked off. Some compostable variants exist with bio-based silicone — ask if that's a requirement and we'll point you to the right SKU.
